ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking to hire a Risk Modeller to join our Group Capital & Risk team in Zurich or Dublin, reporting to the Head of Risk Modelling. This role combines quantitative capital modelling with a strong focus on automation and modern analytics within the wider Capital & Risk function. You will contribute to the development of models feeding the internal capital model and help modernise and automate risk and capital reporting processes across the team.

This role offers exposure to a wide range of products and risks across the Group, spanning both Life and Non‑Life business. You will apply your quantitative skills to real‑world problems and see your work directly reflected in key risk metrics and management decisions.

In parallel, you will play an active role in improving how the Capital & Risk team works by leveraging modern tools, including advanced analytics and AI‑driven automation. You will collaborate closely with colleagues in Risk, Pricing, Reserving, and Finance.

ABOUT YOU

Key Responsibilities

Capital modelling

  • Develop, calibrate, and maintain models and dependencies feeding into the Group’s economic capital model, with a focus on underwriting risks (Life and Non‑Life)
  • Analyse model outputs and support the interpretation of results for risk monitoring and decision‑making
  • Contribute to model documentation, validation, and continuous improvement

Automation and analytics

  • Support risk management and reporting activities with a strong focus on automation and efficiency gains
  • Design and implement automated workflows, analytics, or reporting solutions using R, Python, and modern AI tools
  • Explore the practical use of AI (including LLM‑based tools and agentic workflows) to streamline recurring analytical and reporting tasks, in line with governance standards

Technical Skills

  • Good understanding of statistical modelling and data analytics
  • Solid programming skills, ideally in R and/or Python
  • Interest in modern AI techniques and their application to business processes (hands‑on experience a strong plus)

Soft Skills

  • Creative, structured, and solution‑oriented mindset
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in meeting deadlines
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus

Work Experience

Experience in (re‑)insurance or financial services (typically 1–5 years) is considered an advantage.

Education

MSc or PhD in a quantitative discipline (e.g., mathematics, physics, engineering, natural sciences)
