The role
You will join the Casualty EMEA Pricing team in Zurich, which is part of the World-Wide Casualty Pricing & Analytics group and has pricing responsibility for Casualty and Motor lines of business across Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). Your core responsibility is to be a Business Partner for the underwriters by providing profitability analysis of markets, segments, and individual transactions. In this role you will:
- Provide timely and transparent account pricing for long tailed Casualty and Motor reinsurance treaty business.
- Contribute to the development of pricing methodologies and parameters for Casualty business across EMEA region.
- Perform market analysis and business reviews that will support PartnerRe portfolio optimization.
- Contribute to the development, testing and maintenance of the corporate pricing tool and reporting landscapes.
- Participate on a variety of project teams (model development, annual parameter studies, ad hoc requests)
A key success factor in this role is regular exchange with Underwriters and other business partners, such as Reserving, Risk Management and Senior Management.
Your profile
You have gained some years of relevant industry experience including experience in reinsurance pricing or large account primary insurance pricing experience, and wish to develop further in this area. You are able to digest detailed reinsurance transactions and able to explain complex points to non-actuarial audiences.
To be a successful business partner, you enjoy working together with different internal and external clients, and are proficient in English (any other language is a plus). You are flexible and able to listen to different viewpoints and make course corrections when necessary. Fithermore, your profile is surrounded by the following skills and qualifications:
- Working knowledge of casualty insurance products, with exposure to the regional casualty market in EMEA.
- Strong communication skills and are able to effectively communicate to both internal and external audiences at all levels in the organization, and actively contribute to finding solutions.
- Reliable, independently motivated and eager to work together in teams as part of cross functional projects and work streams.
- Ideally, you possess a university degree in a quantitative discipline (actuarial sciences, data sciences, mathematics, etc...)
- You hold an actuarial qualification or are pursuing one (which we will support).
