Compensation and Benefits
The expected base salary range for this position, when hired into our Toronto location, is CAD $80,000 - 100,000 per year. For positions based in other jurisdictions, compensation will be determined in alignment with local regulations, market benchmarks, and internal compensation frameworks. The above range reflects the typical base salary range for candidates hired into this position. The actual salary will vary depending on a number of factors, including job location, experience, qualifications, education/training, skills, market conditions, and alignment with the role’s requirements.
In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in our annual incentive program, payment under which is at the discretion of PartnerRe and subject to individual and company performance. Eligible employees also have the opportunity to participate in an array of benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, a health spending account, a defined contribution pension plan, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, etc.

As a Senior Business Data Analyst, you will lead the analysis, transformation, and governance of complex client data sets within the Assumed Administration function. You will drive data strategy, mentor business data analysts, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure data integrity, operational efficiency, and strategic alignment across North America Life Operations and Administration.
Strategic Data Leadership
- Lead the design and implementation of scalable data solutions for client onboarding, monthly processing, and reporting.
- Define data quality standards and governance frameworks to ensure consistency and compliance.
- Act as a subject matter expert in reinsurance data flows, treaty interpretation, and operational impacts.
Advanced Data Management & Analytics
- Develop and optimize ETL pipelines and automation scripts using SQL, VBA, and other tools.
- Perform advanced data modelling and root cause analysis to support business decisions.
- Design and maintain dashboards and reporting tools for internal and external stakeholders.
Operational Oversight
- Oversee monthly data ingestion and validation processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Resolve complex data discrepancies and escalate systemic issues with recommendations for resolution.
- Support financial reconciliation processes, including premium, allowance, and tax validation.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison for high-priority clients and internal partners (Underwriting, Finance, Claims, IT).
- Lead data discussions during audits, client meetings, and retrocession reviews.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and data solutions.
Mentorship & Project Leadership
- Mentor and coach business data analysts, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing.
- Lead or co-lead enhancement projects, including requirements gathering, testing, and deployment.
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to strategic planning.
Technical Skills/Competencies
- Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and VBA; experience with Python, Power BI, or similar tools is a plus
- Strong understanding of reinsurance principles, treaty structures, and financial flows
- Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset

Work Experience
- Mid-Level position in data analysis or operations within insurance, reinsurance, or financial services
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field
