Compensation:

The salary range for this role is CAD 93,713 - 114,538.

Job Description

We are seeking a business analyst who has some actuarial knowledge to join our IT Underwriting Non-Life Unit, which is part of the Group IT department and responsible for all applications in the underwriting area (Pricing & Modeling, Capacity & Exposure Management, Portfolio Management & Optimization).

 

  • Support the development of our applications in the Pricing area, from the business requirements and application specifications to the definition of the testing strategy, and user’s support.
  • Analysis of the requirements and specification design.
  • Study information needs, system flows, data usage and business processes
  • Identify areas for improvement in processes and develop solutions
  • Solution design
  • Specify solutions that meet business needs and requirements
  • Analyze data to identify insights that can inform business decisions
  • Assist the development team in planning, execution, and monitoring to ensure successful delivery of solutions
  • Create detailed documentation of business requirements, processes, and solutions
  • Defining and executing tests in collaboration with users
  • Producing the required documentation

 

Qualifications

 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools and software (e.g., Excel, SQL, PowerBI)
  • Experience with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum
  • Driven towards finding solutions and being responsive
  • Experience in the insurance or reinsurance business is a plus
  • Some actuarial knowledge is welcome
  • Highly motivated to understand our business processes
  • Excellent communication and language skills in English (proficient verbal and in writing), as you will interact with the IT and the Business community on a daily basis
  • High motivation and capable of working in a challenging international environment in across location teams
  • Ability to work effectively within diverse teams and stakeholders
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar role.
  • Experience in the insurance or reinsurance business in particularly pricing and actuarial methods is a plus.
  • A university degree or equivalent in Computer Science
