Role Summary:

 

Sets strategy, oversees underwriting performance, and drives business development to ensure profitability and growth of the casualty reinsurance portfolio.

 

Core Accountabilities:

 

  • Develop and execute the strategic vision for the casualty portfolio
  • Oversee underwriting, pricing, and structuring of complex treaties
  • Manage portfolio profitability and performance across the cycle
  • Lead broker and client relationships at a senior level
  • Monitor market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory developments
  • Report financial performance to senior leadership
  • Lead and mentor underwriting team

 

Qualifications:

 

Technical Competencies:

  • Deep expertise across casualty lines
  • Strong actuarial and financial acumen
  • Advanced contract negotiation capability
  • Portfolio management experience
  • Knowledge of regulatory environment
  • Project management competency
  • Working knowledge of Power BI, Copilot and MS Office products.

Work Experience:

  • 10-15 years in reinsurance/insurance with significant casualty underwriting and leadership experience

 

Education & Professional Qualifications:

  • Relevant degree required; advanced degree and industry designations preferred
