About the Role:

We are seeking a highly analytical and strategically minded professional to join the Non Life CUO Office as a key advisor to the Group Non Life Chief Underwriting Officer. The role is central to help shaping the Non Life portfolio, driving strategic planning, enhancing underwriting decision making tools, and promoting best practices across the organization.

You will combine underwriting acumen with analytical rigor, project execution, and strong communication skills. The ideal candidate has deep non life reinsurance knowledge across multiple lines, experience with portfolio assessment tools and metrics, and the ability to translate complex insights into clear recommendations for senior management.

This position reports directly to the Group Non Life CUO and collaborates closely with underwriting teams, analytics, the CUO Office, and divisional CEOs.

Responsibilities:

Strategic Portfolio Support

  • Support the CUO in planning and monitoring the shape, size and performance of the Non-Life portfolio, across lines of business and geographies.
  • Analyze gross and net underwriting portfolios to assess profitability, earnings volatility, and capital efficiency.
  • Lead the designing of tools aiming to improve Underwriting decisions and the monitoring of metrics and accumulations.

Business Reviews & Product Monitoring

  • Coordinate and contribute to Business Reviews for select portfolios and lines of business.
  • Collaborate with underwriting teams and leaders to understand deviations from plan, loss drivers, or emerging risks.

Non-Life CUO Support

  • Act as a strategic partner to the CUO: offering challenge, support decision-making, and preparing for key meetings
  • Follow up with teams to ensure timely execution of CUO-relevant action items
  • Prepare high-quality materials for the Board and Senior Management, ensuring clarity, accuracy and alignment.

About You:

Education:

  • University degree in a relevant field (Actuarial, Finance, Business, Engineering, or related).

Experience:

  • 5-15 years of experience in underwriting, actuarial, or portfolio analysis within non-life reinsurance, ideally across multiple lines. Title and responsibilities will be adjusted based on candidate’s experience
  • Strong understanding of portfolio performance metrics and of the financial implications of underwriting decisions.
  • Experience preparing executive-level materials and facilitating cross-functional discussions.

Skills & Qualities:

  • Strong analytical mindset: able to interpret complex data and draw actionable insights.
  • Effective communicator who can translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise messages.
  • Strategic thinker with a solid grasp of both underwriting execution and long-term portfolio steering.
  • Collaborative and proactive team player comfortable navigating a matrixed organization.
  • Self-starter with strong project management capabilities and impeccable attention to detail.
  • Naturally curious, eager to learn new topics and form new relationships continuously.
  • Proficiency in Excel – additional data analysis tools could be a plus (e.g. Power BI).
