About the role
We are looking to hire a Senior Life and Health Pricing Actuary to join our growing team in Singapore, reporting to the Head of Pricing of ANZ, Korea and group business of APAC. In this role you will be responsible for the pricing of life reinsurance treaties and product development for the markets in Australia, New Zealand, Korea and the wider group (short-term business) opportunities across APAC.
About you
Your responsibilities will include:
- Helping to grow the Asia Pacific Life business - a high priority objective for PartnerRe;
- Leading the delivery of pricing across both Individual and Group products across different markets while ensuring compliance of internal standards, proper risk assessment and best practice;
- Strong stakeholder management skills with an ability to confidently present to senior internal approvers including the Chief Pricing Actuary, local and regional CEOs;
- Working closely with Client Partners to develop the market and bolster our franchise value;
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients across the market, including presentation of experience analysis and reinsurance terms to key decision makers;
- Maintaining and developing pricing tools and models and updating terms of trade (e.g. benchmarks);
- Promoting PartnerRe’s expertise through targeted marketing efforts, supporting client visits and externally representing and promoting PartnerRe's capabilities.
Technical skills/competencies
- Expert in pricing both individual and group business in Australia and New Zealand markets. Knowledge and experience in other Asian markets will be an advantage.
- Proven track record in the delivery of successful large competitive tenders and renewals. The actuary will lead the pricing from end-to-end perspective and work closely with Business Development teams and other cross-functional team in executing the strategy.
- The actuary demonstrates excellent project and stakeholder management skills to ensure efficient and timely pricing proposals.
- Ensure governance and controls are met through proper documentation, peer review and making constant improvement to pricing infrastructure.
- Strong modelling skills with knowledge on AXIS or R will be an advantage.

- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate complex technical issues in an effective way.
- Self-motivated, holds oneself accountable and takes ownership for problem resolution, able to prioritize under pressure of competing deadlines.

- Team-player who actively contributes to the team development and discussions.
Work experience
- More than 6 years of experience in life insurance with minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience.
Professional qualifications or designations
- Qualified Life Actuary (FIAA, FIA, FSA or equivalent)
