As a Senior Client Partner, you will be responsible for growing PartnerRe’s Life & Health reinsurance business in Southeast Asia, with a focus on Singapore and Thailand. The role leads senior client relationships, sources and executes profitable reinsurance opportunities, and represents PartnerRe externally in alignment with Asia-Pacific and global strategies.

 

About the role

Overall, your key responsibilities will be as follows:

  • Develop and execute market strategies and action plans for Southeast Asia, with focus on Singapore and Thailand, delivering sustainable growth, targeted results, and profitability.
  • Own and lead senior client relationships across all relevant functions and levels, ensuring strong strategic alignment, identifying and advancing new business opportunities, and strengthening long-term partnerships.
  • Lead the structuring, negotiation, and finalization of sustainable and marketable reinsurance proposals and treaty terms, including complex transactions, ensuring commercial soundness and long-term client value.
  • Manage the in-force portfolio, ensuring appropriate exposure monitoring, experience analysis, and actual-to-expected reviews are completed in line with PartnerRe governance standards.
  • Ensure adherence to PartnerRe’s risk management, compliance, and governance frameworks in all business activities.
  • Establish and maintain a strong profile within the Life & Health Southeast Asia business, acting as a key contact person for internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Monitor market and competitor developments across Southeast Asia, identifying emerging trends, risks, and opportunities, and providing strategic insights to support business planning and client engagement.
  • Represent and promote PartnerRe’s expertise externally through targeted marketing initiatives, client engagements, conference participation, and industry forums.
  • Contribute to the development of team capabilities and knowledge, fostering thought leadership and strengthening PartnerRe’s positioning with major multinational and regional clients.

 

About you

You are a qualified actuary, or bringing an equivalent quantitative background with demonstrated business development experience in Life & Health reinsurance. Ideally, you hold a degree in actuarial science, mathematics, finance, or related field, and a minimum of 12–15 years of professional experience within the life insurance/reinsurance, or life consulting industry.

  • Proven track record in developing and maintaining senior client relationships in Singapore, Thailand and other SEA experience will be an advantage.
  • Deep understanding of the Singapore life insurance and reinsurance markets and regulatory environment; experience in Thailand and broader Southeast Asia is an advantage.
  • Proven expertise in negotiating, pricing, structuring, and recommending reinsurance transactions.
  • Creativity, curiosity, and ambition balanced with pragmatism.
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated strong commercial sense and professional judgment.
  • Strong communicator externally with clients as well as internally, in English at a business level (verbal and written) is essential.
  • Additional Mandarin, Cantonese and/or Thai language skills will be an advantage.
