The External Reporting Manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with the local regulatory requirements, external reporting and liaison with the relevant departments and auditors for quarter and year end close.
This role reports directly to the CFO, Singapore.
About the role
Overall, your responsibilities will be as follows:
Regulatory and statutory reporting
- Responsible for maintaining compliance with the requirements of relevant Insurance Act, Companies Act, Income Tax and other regulatory requirements
- Responsible for the USGAAP and MAS quarterly close for the Singapore entity
- Accurate and timely submissions of MAS regulatory returns to MAS and other regulatory bodies in accordance with format and requirements as required
- Preparation of IFRS 17 financial statements by working closely with various teams across the Group producing the IFRS 17 results
- Preparation of other relevant reports for Management and the Audit Committee/Risk Committee/Board of Directors
- Responsible for the timely preparation and/or review of quarterly GST Returns
- Liaising with MAS officers with regards to MAS regulatory returns and other reporting related matters
- Liaising with external auditors and tax agents on audit and tax matters
- Liaising with bankers on banking matters
- Involvement in ad-hoc projects
About you
- Good understanding of Singapore Insurance Act and Regulations’, Companies Act and Income Tax requirements as applicable to reinsurance companies
- Sound technical knowledge on financial accounting and reporting standards, including IFRS 17
- Good interpersonal and communication skills to engage at all levels.
- Experience in liaising with external auditors and other accounting and reinsurance professionals
- Proficient in English (written and spoken)
- Well versed in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Knowledge in Peoplesoft is an advantage.
- Independent, self-motivated, meticulous, sound judgement and problem-solving skill
