Job Description

Job Summary

PartnerRe is strengthening its Third Party Risk Management (“TPM”) function to ensure consistent, risk-based execution across the third‑party lifecycle.

We are seeking an experienced Third Party Risk Manager to play a central role in maturing and constantly improving PartnerRe’s TPM framework, take day‑to‑day ownership for execution, provide experienced judgment and quality oversight, and act as a key partner to business and compliance stakeholders. You will report directly to the Group Compliance and Data Protection Officer. The role sits within the wider Legal and Compliance function and works in close collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Procurement, IT, Data Protection and Risk Management.

This is a hands‑on role suited to someone who combines technical expertise with pragmatic execution, and who is comfortable operating with a high degree of accountability.

About the role

  • Lead and oversee the day‑to‑day execution of TPM lifecycle, from onboarding due diligence through ongoing monitoring, remediation and termination.
  • Provide hands‑on oversight and review of TPM deliverables, ensuring risk-based quality and consistency, regulatory compliance and timely completion.
  • Advise and challenge first line stakeholders to support informed risk decisions.
  • Contribute to the design, implementation and embedding of TPM policies, procedures, and controls across jurisdictions.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Register of Service Arrangements, including data quality, completeness and regulatory reporting readiness.
  • Drive remediation actions and reassessments.
  • Prepare and contribute to management reporting and regulatory submissions, including clear articulation of risks, issues and outcomes.
  • Support and lead TPM change initiatives, including tooling and workflow improvements.

Work Experience and Qualification

Technical Skills

  • You are an experienced Third Party / Outsourcing risk professional who brings maturity, sound judgement and delivery focus, and who can operate effectively in a global, matrixed organization.
  • You are comfortable balancing framework expectations with real world constraints and are able to prioritize, challenge and take pragmatic decisions.

You bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing end to end TPM / outsourcing processes, including due diligence, control assessments, ongoing monitoring and issue remediation.
  • Strong understanding of outsourcing, intra-group and third party risk regulatory expectations across relevant jurisdictions (e.g. Bermuda, Canada, EU, UK, Singapore, Hong Kong or similar), and the ability to translate them into proportionate execution.

Soft Skills

  • Proven ability to apply risk based judgement, particularly when assessing critical or higher risk arrangements.
  • Experience working closely with, and constructively challenging, senior first line stakeholders.
  • Strong governance mindset, with experience preparing clear reporting materials.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • A delivery oriented approach, with the ability to “roll up your sleeves” and progress work independently in a lean set up.
  • High level of integrity, resilience and accountability, with a calm and structured approach to competing priorities.
  • Fluency in English.

Education and Work Experience

  • Significant practical experience (10+ years) in Third Party Risk Management, Outsourcing Risk, Operational Risk, or a related risk discipline, ideally within financial services, insurance/reinsurance, consulting or audit.
  • A university degree or equivalent qualification in Risk, Compliance, Law, Finance, Audit, Business or a related discipline.
