Job Description

Job Summary:

Hands-on AI Architect role focused on transitioning from AI experimentation to enterprise-scale production. Responsible for defining and operationalizing a unified AI architecture across data platforms and cloud ecosystems, working closely with senior stakeholders.

About the Role:

Architectural Governance (The "Decision Matrix"):

  • Define and enforce the standard for where AI workloads run by defining Enterprise reference architectures, Decision frameworks, guardrails & reusable templates and AI workload placement guidelines
  • Own architectural decisions for AI workloads across the enterprise and guide engineering teams to implement them.
  • Provide guidance and oversight to AI Developers and engineering teams to ensure alignment with the enterprise AI architecture.

Delivery & Execution (Unblocking Pilots):

  • Provide architectural and engineering leadership to unblock pilots and accelerate delivery.
  • Build reusable deployment pipelines (MLOps) to resolve current resource/capacity bottlenecks.

Intelligent Integration:

  • Design the "glue" between Snowflake data and Azure applications using robust API standards (including guidance).
    • Implement Document AI to automate entity extraction from policies/claims and expose this data to downstream systems.
    • Develop connectors for Microsoft Copilot to securely query internal Snowflake data. Assess and integrate required AI services to close gaps or introduce new capabilities.
    • Define secure token, authentication, and identity‑boundary patterns; establish telemetry and monitoring for all AI workloads; and optimize model cost/performance through workload placement, caching, and throughput tuning.

    Stakeholder Engagement and Collaboration

    • Partner with business leadership and IT teams to translate requirements into scalable AI solutions that drive measurable value.
    • Present architectural plans and strategies into clear, actionable insights for technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to evaluate emerging AI technologies and assess their long-term impact on organizational goals.

Qualification / Skills:

Technical Skills

  • Expert-level proficiency in either Snowflake (Cortex, Document AI, Snowpark) or the Azure AI Ecosystem (OpenAI, AI Foundry, Azure ML), with the technical aptitude to quickly master and architect across both platforms.
  • Strong coding skills in Python (required for both stacks) and SQL, with experience in frameworks like LangChain, Semantic Kernel, or Streamlit. Knowledge of vector databases, feature stores, orchestration (Airflow/Azure Data Factory), and LLM evaluation frameworks
  • Proficiency in enterprise architecture tools and methodologies

Soft Skills

  • Strong analytical thinking, excellent communication skills, player–coach mindset, strong cross-team collaboration.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of articulating complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong assertiveness and ability to work with cross-functional teams and projects.

Education / Work Experience

  • 7+ years in data engineering, software engineering, or cloud architecture with focus on generative AI.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
