Compensation and Benefits

The expected base salary range for this position, when hired into our Toronto location, is CAD $93,713 – $114,538 per year. For positions based in other jurisdictions, compensation will be determined in alignment with local regulations, market benchmarks, and internal compensation frameworks. The above range reflects the typical base salary range for candidates hired into this position. The actual salary will vary depending on a number of factors, including job location, experience, qualifications, education/training, skills, market conditions, and alignment with the role’s requirements.

 

In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in our annual incentive program, payment under which is at the discretion of PartnerRe and subject to individual and company performance. Eligible employees also have the opportunity to participate in an array of benefits, including medical, dental and vision coverage, a health spending account, a defined contribution pension plan, life insurance, short- and long-term disability coverage, etc.

 

Working Arrangement

Job Summary:

 

We are looking for an IT Business Analyst to join our Group IT Life and Health Underwriting and Claims application team and help drive the development and the adoption of software solutions within PartnerRe as well as support the stable IT operations. This role will be based in Dublin OR Toronto, working with our internal business stakeholders (e.g., underwriters, client partners, actuaries, claims managers) and IT teams on the global level to ensure that our IT solutions effectively support the complex business and compliance requirements of our Life and Health reinsurance business.

 

About the role:

 

  • Manage BAU system operations, application-specific ITSM processes, security and compliance requests, change requests, and user on/off boarding.
  • Work with stakeholders to translate business needs into clear, actionable IT requirements.
  • Drive the design and validation of IT solutions in collaboration with architecture, development, and business teams.
  • Test and ensure the quality of the developed IT solutions. 
  • Define and oversee test strategies, support UAT, and ensure delivery of high-quality, user-centric solutions.
  • Guide data and reporting initiatives, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and business value.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and trends to drive continuous improvement and innovation.

 

Qualifications:

 

Technical Skills:

  • Proven experience in requirements gathering, process modelling, and solution design for complex IT systems.
  • Proficiency with BA tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Visio, Miro, Figma) and agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, etc.).
  • Solid knowledge of data structures, reporting, and analytics relevant to underwriting and claims.
  • Experience with the IT development platforms such as .Net, Azure Clouds, Appian, etc.
  • Exposure to AI/ML applications in underwriting or claims automation.

 

Soft skills:

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills in English, with the ability to bridge business and technical teams.
  • Proactive problem-solving, resilience in the face of challenges, and an optimistic, action-oriented mindset

 

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in insurance or reinsurance ideally with a focus on Life & Health underwriting and/or claims.

 

Education/Professional Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Scrum Master and ITSM related certification are desired.
