Job Description
Job Summary
We currently have an opportunity for an External Reporting Accountant in our European External Reporting team. The successful candidate will be part of a 10-person team based in Dublin. The key responsibility of this role will be to assist with IFRS 17 reporting for the PartnerRe legal entities (in Canada and Singapore) and the quarterly close process for the Irish legal entities.
The role enables you to build strong relationships at all levels across the organisation and establish trust with key stakeholders.
About the Role
- Preparation and review of annual audited statutory IFRS 17 financial statements, quarterly unaudited statutory accounts, quarterly and annual regulatory submissions and other required filings.
- Preparation and review of quarterly unaudited statutory accounts for Irish legal entities.
- Preparation and review of quarterly and annual regulatory submissions to the Central Bank of Ireland and other applicable regulators.
- Assessment and documentation of new standards/reporting requirements originating across multiple bases, for example, US GAAP / IFRS / Irish GAAP / EIOPA.
- Internal and external stakeholder management, for example legal entity management teams, local auditor, IT finance and actuarial teams.
- Preparation and automation of the reports to the Board and Audit Committee and financial statements.
- Support on tasks performed on other legal entities in the group.
- Support on local and group projects as they arise.
Qualification and Work Experience
Technical Skills
- We are looking for someone with strong attention to detail, with information produced being complete, accurate and of high standard, and who can work independently as well as part of the team in a culture of continuous improvement.
- Appetite to learn and develop IFRS 17 knowledge.
- Solvency II reporting experience is desirable.
- Must have excellent Microsoft Office skills – Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook.
Soft Skills
- Proven experience working to tight reporting deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative with an ambitious attitude.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work within a multi-national team.
Work Experinec and Education
- ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified (min. 1-year PQE).
- Experience in the (re)insurance industry is a must.
